Cutting Hall Background

This performing arts center located in Palatine, Illinois has been a primary part of Palatines arts environment. It was established in 1928 and once became an auditorium Palatine High School. Charles Cutting became the first principal of the high school. All through his lifetime he obtained acknowledgment as lawyer, an educator and judge in Cook County.

Cutting Hall has 440 seats and was originally used for different art productions for Palatine high. The interior of this facility is adorned with hand-painted wooden beams. Gustave Bandt was the person behind that design. He was among the four worldwide-renowned artists in the 20s era. There are six pillars which carry the auditorium part. Each has a tiffany-kind lamp that originally utilized gas to power.

The 211 Palatine School District locked the performing arts center facility when it relocated to a larger and new area in 1977. The area residents started a scheme to keep the old building to be used as a community-building center. The theater turned as a main part of the scheme. Eventually, that part of the facility became a detached facility by means of renovation.

Performances

Since 1979, Cutting Hall performing arts center has accommodated several performances. It has seen considerable use beginning its first period being a district center facility. There have been three community groups who held amateur presentations as local companies for about six seasons. These groups were charged rental fee that covers private use of its facilities during audition, production period and performances.

Additionally, local companies were provided rehearsal theater space depending on the performing arts centers availability. There have been about thee plays in rehearsal, making a big deal of many facility uses. Space was also given for its construction. Renovations
